Wishetenes råd <p>The <em>Wishetenes råd</em>, first published in 1696, is a Swedish translation of the L<em>es conseils de la sagesse</em> (1677) by the French Jesuit Michel Boutauld (1625-1688), an anthology of quotations attributed to Solomon. The second edition (1707) adds an appendix containing eighty maxims from the <em>Analects</em>. These maxims were translated from the French <em>La morale de Confucius, philosophe de la Chine</em> (1688), which was itself a translation of the Latin <em>Confucius Sinarum Philosophus</em> (1687).</p> -
